Lesson one.
In today's lesson we begun to create our storyboard for our preliminary task, starting with what each of us wanted the genre to be and discussing different ideas from that.
After some discussing as a group we came up with the choice of Sci-Fi for our chosen genre as we thought that working with this genre would be different for us to work with as its a genre which requires quite a lot of creativity.
Throughout the lesson we came up with many ideas. As our main idea that we would work and create a story around would be that the character would have to find a "potion", then drinking it by mistake and actually accidentally killing themselves.
Towards the end of the lesson we begun to learn about the 180 degree rule, this being that if their are two or more characters on the set at one time, the camera should always be shown on the characters same left or right, to not make things confusing for the audience.
Next lesson we have decided to add more detail to our story boards, adding in the majority of media vocabulary we have learnt like such terms as diagetic and non-diagetic.
Lesson two.
In this second lesson my group and I begun to carry on planning on with our storyboards and beginning to add in the specific sound vocabulary, an example of where we put about diagetic sound is where the footsteps would be heard when the character is walking across the outside.
This lesson was the first lesson where Mary Hainsby came into our group and she began to put some ideas towards the storyboards whilst gaining knowledge of such things as the 180 degree rule.
Next lesson we will aim to finish our story boards and begin to write them out neatly so they are clear for when we put them on our blogs.
Lesson three.
In today's lesson my group and I completed the remaining of the story boards making sure that all the writing was as detailed as we could make it.
After this we got together the people who had volunteered to help us by starring in our preliminary task (Sam Constance and Katie Lawson). We as a group chose other people to star in our task rather than ourselves as we all wanted to contribute in the filming and making sure all of the camera angles and movements were put in correctly.
Although we run out of time whilst filming so for next lesson we have to look back on the footage and just check that we have included all of the camera angles and movements that were needed.
Lesson four.
This lesson my group and I completed all the filming, after looking back on our film we decided that we had all the camera movements and angles that we wanted and there was no need to go out and film once more and just to go ahead and begin to start editing it.
To edit our video we went into the iMac suite and used the programme iMovie, in this process we all worked together to decided which shots we would include and where and what editing we would actually put into our video. Due to previously last lesson running out of time we were now keeping a close eye on the time whilst we were editing so that we ensured we would be able to finish on time.
As a group I feel we showed in this task we can work well as a team making sure that everybody had a role and knew exactly what they were doing in the process.
Next lesson we will be finalizing our video ready to put onto Youtube and our blogs.
Lesson five.
This is where we put our preliminary task onto Youtube. Here is the finished result.
